The Polar Paddle 1/3/26

​Race into the new year! Forget the polar plunge. Join us for the Polar Paddle, and compete for the "Frozen Paddle"

When: Saturday 1/3/26 at 11am.
Where: Trinley Park Limerick PA. Trinley Park boat ramp in Limerick PA.

Join us for Kayak Skramble's "POLAR PADDLE". Come out and compete for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place prizes or come out for fun and give it your best shot! Prizes are based on registration, but are already bigger and better than last year and  increasing with each registration! Bring your family, friends, and co-workers out to compete for the "Frozen Paddle", and RACE INTO THE NEW YEAR!!!

Prices:

Individuals (Recreational Division): $30.00
Doubles (Recreational Division): $25.00 per person
Individuals (Open Division): $35.00
Doubles (Open Division): $30.00 per person

Prizes:

  • RECREATIONAL DIVISION: To be considered eligible for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd places: Tandem kayaks must be under 16ft, single seat must be under 14.5ft. All kayaks in this division must be at least 23inches at their widest point. There are no sprint/marathon style racing kayaks, or any competition style vessel allowed in the recreational division. (these are the row team/boat house row style vessels.) This division is for recreational kayaks. All canoes and SUPs will register under the Recreational division. (if you are a beginner/casual/recreational kayak owner your kayak is perfect for this division. There is no need to worry about the dimensions).

  • **NEW THIS YEAR** OPEN DIVISION: We have added an "open division" this year! In the open division there are no restrictions on length or type of kayak. This division is for more experienced and competitive paddlers who would like to race more competition style vessels, or who have kayaks outside the recreational division specs. (Please note: prizes in this division are based on registration with the bulk of competitors registering under the recreational division.)

Kayak Skramble: The POLAR PADDLE, Race into the new year!

When: Sat. January 3rd 2026 (rain date: Sat. Jan 10th 2026)
Where: Trinley Park, Limerick township PA, off of Trinley mill road. 19468
Race Details: Straight start and finish race. Doubles division and Individuals division. 2.3miles from Trinley park boat ramp to the Spring City boat ramp. time in the water will be about 20-40min. depending on current and paddling ability. Exit boat ramp is the Spring City boat ramp. Return shuttle is provided for all paddlers. Kayak Skramble staff will stay with your kayaks until you can retrieve them. You may also choose to transport yourself once you have checked in at the finish line. Winners will claim prizes at starting point. Additional details explained below.

 
  • All contestants must wear a life vest while in the water.

  • Bring your favorite kayak, paddles, and life vest. If you do not own a kayak we have a limited number for you to use. Please contact us before registration if you plan to use one of our kayaks.

  • Contestants must be 16 years of age or older.

  • Please adhere to all instruction from Kayak Skramble staff and volunteers.

  • Arrive at Trinley Park 10am. Check in. Receive your race number, prepare yourself and your kayak. Race begins at 11am.

  • You will be shuttled back to Trinley park. You may also choose to transport yourself and your kayak once you check in at the finish line boat ramp.

  • In the event of a tie, we move directly to a fight to the death using kayak paddles. Just kidding, the individual/team with the shorter kayak wins.

  • You are responsible to make sure your kayak is either registered or has a current pa fish and boat launch permit. These can be purchased at walmart, dicks sporting goods, limerick hardware, AAA, online at pa fish and boat website, and other places. (approximate current launch permit prices are 1yr:$12, 2yr:$22).

  • Prizes based on number of registered teams. Prizes include cash prizes, new kayaks, and more.
