Carolina Skramble 2026!
Beachside Kayak Relay Tournament!!

When: Sat. June 20th 2025 (9am)
Where: 1000 Loggerhead Rd. Kure Beach N.C. 28449
Race Details: Kayak Relay Tournament on the beach! Individuals division, Doubles team division, and Four-man team division. Tournament involves short sprints with your kayak over the sand to the water, paddle through the breakers to the turnaround buoy, and back to shore, to sprint up the sand and hand your kayak off to your teammate(s). Hang out on the beach, and do your best on every "run". "Run" times will be added together throughout the day, and the best teams advance to the playoffs to compete for top prizes! Bring your own favorite kayak or use one of ours. There is no added cost for using ours. Whether your an expert or complete novice, paddling through the waves is a blast, and this is the event and competition for you! Additional details explained below.
Registration Prices: Four-man division - $30.00 per person Doubles division - $35.00 per person Individual Competitors - $35.00

 

  • All contestants must wear a life vest while in the water.

  • Only one kayak per team is needed. (this is a relay tournament). Four-man teams use one tandem kayak.

  • You may bring your own kayak, paddles, and life vest, or you may use one of ours (no added cost).

  • Sit on top kayaks only. If you do not own a sit on top or just don't want to drag it to the beach, we have kayaks on the beach already for you to use! (no added cost!)

  • Contestants must be 16 years of age or older.

  • Please adhere to all instruction from Kayak Skramble staff and volunteers.

  • Please read and understand beach conduct rules for Fort Fisher NC State Recreation Area.

  • There is a Fort Fisher State Recreation Area parking lot right at the beach. Gates to the parking lot open at 6am. Please arrive no later than 8am to secure parking and check in. (Do your best to use one vehicle per team).

  • Prizes based on number of teams.
